Designing an Operating Model for Silicon Valley Bank’s Innovation Team

The Innovation Team at Silicon Valley Bank wanted to re-design their operating model to address existing friction points and draw inspiration from other successful models.

We dove deep into design research and competitive landscaping. Our work began by "looking in," which consisted of in-depth 1:1 interviews with every member of the team, from executive to individual contributor. We then "looked out," interviewing leaders at several successful incubators and venture capitalists for inspiration.
Armed with a deep understanding of the team, the model, and outside inspiration, we then led design workshops to imprint the team's DNA into the new process and foster alignment, buy-in and excitement.

A new operating model playbook was developed and implemented. Team members noted reduced confusion and significant efficiency upon implementation of the new operating model.
Building personas and assessing product/ market fit for an AI startup

Narrow.ai (www.getnarrow.ai) is a pre-seed startup building an automated prompt engineering tool for streamlined LLM evaluation. They needed to develop a deep understanding of user personas, use cases, value propositions and feature prioritization criteria.

In-depth qualitative assessment with 17 respondents spanning industries from national security to household name media companies. We mapped user unmet needs and pain points, emerging themes within the space and key dynamics to consider. Further, we conducted a workshop with the founding team to share learnings, discuss implications and provide overall thought partnership.

All learnings were compiled into a comprehensive onboarding document, ensuring alignment and understanding for development partners and new hires. Founder has requested follow-on work.
